Before I launched Podcast Ally, I thought no one could create podcast PR plans like I did.
How could I possibly train other people to combine knowledge and insights I’d spent 8 years gathering?
I had no idea – but I started to ask myself: “What would it take?”
You know how that story ends. I figured it out. :)
If you also desire to build a business that runs without you, this is the energy you need to bring into the new year.
What would have to change for you to take a giant step back, while the business keeps growing and innovating for you?
I know from experience how daunting this question feels when you’re used to carrying the business up the mountain, strapped onto your back like a reluctant toddler.
So I created a scorecard to help you assess how ready your business is to run without you.
Here’s how it works:
10 “Yes” or “No” questions take you through the essential shifts you’ll need to make to create a more independent company
Along with your score, you get a list of opportunity areas that you can focus on this year. These are not the cookie cutter tips you’ll find on GPT (I know, because I looked!). This is a true list of what it takes to create a business that can run without you – or that you can sell.
You might choose to hold onto some functions, but ideally, by the end of the year, you can answer “Yes” to 8 out of 10 of the questions.
You can get your business independence score right here.
Before you go, I had a big a’ha moment I’d like to share with you.
In putting together the scorecard, I realized it would be impossible to make one quiz that applied to service, product and course-based business.
That led me to a major decision about the future of my new training and consulting business – I’m focusing my tools and resources on the businesses I know best – agencies and service providers.
There are already so many resources helping course creators grow and to create efficiencies for solo business owners, but most of us who want to advise and work with clients are left to figure it out ourselves.
The idea that you can’t scale an agency is outdated, and it's driving you to burn out.
The scorecard only takes 1-2 minutes to complete, but the real work begins when you look at your results and ask yourself, “What would it take?”
